How do artists refresh their creative lives? Every week, one of our favorite artists will take over our Instagram to reveal his or her favorite forms of down-time. On Monday, Q2 Music compiles the takeover into a web feature. Follow the live takeovers on our Instagram account and catch the write-up from the latest feature below.

New York-based musician and composer Caroline Shaw is an avocado-lover, Grammy Award–winning singer in Roomful of Teeth, violinist in ACME, collaborator of Kanye West and the youngest winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Music (2013). Between rehearsing Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians and recording sessions with a long-time friend, Caroline finds peace in her urban garden.

good morrrrrning... zzzzz... hi, wonderful cool amazing q2 community. i'm going to walk you through my day today. it's not particularly typical, but no day ever is. this is july 20th 2016, and hello.

so. breakfast. i'm obsessed with soft-boiled eggs. i keep trying to get the perfect texture, but it's a little different every time. what's perfect anyway? here's today's egg, on miso couscous, with pepper & salt & dill from my fire escape. (i just realized i didn't wash the dill. oops! fine?!! fine. i think it's fine.) music: couperin's "les baricades mistérieuses" [violaine cochard, harpsichord] (stitched together using videoshop. nice editing-on-your-phone app, once you get used to it.)
